Public Commends TCU for Enhancing Service Delivery Through Digital Systems

Members of the public and various stakeholders have commended the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) for its continued efforts to improve and simplify access to its services through the adoption of electronic service delivery systems.

The commendations were expressed during the climax of the National Public Service Week celebrations, which concluded on 23 June 2026 at the Chinangali Park Grounds in Dodoma.

Visitors to the TCU exhibition pavilion expressed appreciation for the Commission’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives, noting that online systems such as the No Objection Certificate System (NOCS), Foreign Awards Assessment System (FAAS), Programme Management System (PMS), and Universities Information Management System (UIMS) have significantly enhanced the efficiency, accessibility, and transparency of services provided to university institutions, students, parents, and the general public.

Stakeholders particularly acknowledged the convenience of accessing various services electronically, including applications, information dissemination, regulatory processes and other services provided by the Commission. They observed that the digital platforms have reduced the need for physical visits to the Commission’s offices, thereby saving both time and costs.

Speaking during the exhibition, several visitors noted that TCU’s electronic service delivery systems have contributed to an improved customer experience and increased public confidence in the Commission’s services. They further encouraged the Commission to continue investing in digital innovations and public awareness initiatives to ensure that more citizens benefit from the available online services.

Throughout the exhibition, TCU officials provided information and guidance to visitors regarding the Commission’s mandate, services, admission procedures, quality assurance processes, recognition of qualifications and various online platforms used to facilitate service delivery.

The Commission’s participation in the National Public Service Week, held from 16 to 23 June 2026, provided an opportunity to showcase its achievements in promoting efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in higher education regulatory processes and service delivery in Tanzania through digital innovations. TCU remains committed to leveraging information and communication technologies to further enhance service delivery and ensure that stakeholders continue to receive quality, timely, and accessible services.

Public Service Week exhibitions are nationwide events organised to showcase the innovations, services and achievements of public institutions in Tanzania. They form part of the Africa Public Service Day celebrations, with a strong emphasis on citizen engagement, transparency and improved service delivery through interactive displays and forums.

The 2026 exhibitions continue a long-standing tradition of recognising the contributions of public servants and strengthening relations between the Government and citizens. They provide ministries, agencies and local government authorities with an opportunity to demonstrate improvements in efficiency, accountability and responsiveness.

The exhibitions are coordinated by the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance and typically feature themed pavilions, panel discussions, digital service demonstrations and awards recognising excellence in public administration. Participating institutions showcase innovations across key sectors, including digital governance, infrastructure, education and health services.
