On March 22, 2024, the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) donated various supplies to the children's ward, including premature babies being treated at the Muhimbili National Hospital - Mloganzila, in Dar es Salaam. While delivering these supplies on behalf of the Executive Secretary of TCU, the Principal Quality Assurance Officer, Dr. Malehe Setta, stated that the donation is part of the Commission's strategy to assist the needy in society, particularly patients and children.
"As stakeholders in higher education in the country, we felt it is our responsibility to visit this hospital and support the efforts being made to care for patients, including children, especially premature babies," said Dr. Setta.
Some of the essential items handed over in the children's ward include total parenteral nutrition, which is special food for premature babies, milk, clothes, washing and bathing soap, ointments, and diapers.
