If you have secured admission to pursue studies at an overseas university, and you wish to know whether the institution is credible, you are advised to apply for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from TCU. Applications are conducted through an online system namely, No Objection Certificate system.

No Objection Certificate (NOC), also known as a No Objection Letter is a certificate/letter issued by the TCU to a person who has secured admission to pursue studies at an overseas university. It provides assurance of accreditation of the overseas university and programme of study, and recognition of the accreditation status by the host country.

NOC normally provides assurance of foreign education programmes based on academic standards and principles derived from various conventions, regional agreements and national policies. Some professions in Tanzania are legally regulated. This means that beyond academic considerations there may be other requirements based on particular professions.

In order to make an informed decision on the programmes leading to professional practice, applicants are advised to seek guidance from the relevant professional registration bodies regarding the professional suitability of the programme in Tanzania based on their statutory mandates, prior to embarking on the studies abroad. Some regulated professions in Tanzania can be found in the list of Professional Registration Authorities.

Applicants are required to read Principles 5 and 6 of NOC guidelines before making applications.
