TCU Hosts Groundbreaking Computer Programmers Workshop to Bolster 2025/2026 Bachelor’s Degree Admission Cycle

In a vibrant and collaborative atmosphere, the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) successfully conducted a two-day capacity building workshop for Computer Programmers and Systems Developers from various higher education institutions across the country. The event, held from 22 to 23 May 2025 in the scenic town of Morogoro, marked a significant stride toward enhancing efficiency and technological alignment in preparation for the upcoming 2025/2026 Bachelor’s Degree admission cycle.

The workshop, attended by over 60 Computer Programmers and Systems Developers, focused on critical issues including systems integration and data submission to TCU. The discussions aimed to strengthen the interoperability of institutional systems and improve the accuracy and timeliness of student admission data.

Opening the workshop, the Executive Secretary of TCU, Prof. Charles Kihampa, underscored the pivotal role of Computer Programmers and Systems Developers in ensuring a seamless and transparent admission process. He applauded them for their behind-the-scenes contributions to admissions in higher education institutions and emphasised the importance of continuous capacity building in the dynamic world of technology.

"This workshop is a testament to our commitment to excellence in service delivery through innovation and collaboration," Prof. Kihampa remarked. "As we prepare for the 2025/2026 admission cycle, it is crucial that our systems are robust, secure, and well-integrated to support national goals in higher education."

The sessions featured expert presentations, hands-on technical discussions, and peer-to-peer knowledge exchange. Topics ranged from real-time data analytics to automation of admission processes and a quality assurance perspective toward the 2025/2026 admission cycle.

Participants hailed the initiative as timely and empowering. "This workshop has not only broadened our technical understanding but also strengthened our sense of collaboration with TCU. We leave here better equipped to serve our institutions and future students," said one participant.

The event concluded with a call to action for all institutions to maintain active engagement with TCU and continue enhancing their internal systems. With the insights gained, Computer Programmers and Systems Developers are now better positioned to contribute to a more efficient admission process in Tanzania's higher education institutions.

As the countdown to the 2025/2026 Bachelor’s Degree admission cycle begins, TCU’s forward-looking approach demonstrates its dedication to strengthening the admission process across the country’s higher education institutions.
