The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) showcased its commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment at the 6th Annual Leadership Conference, held on March 6, 2024, at Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam

With a resolute focus on advancing women's roles in leadership, TCU emerged as a pivotal sponsor and participant in the event. Ms. Lucy Mrikaria, TCU's Chief Internal Auditor, represented the TCU's Executive Secretary, Prof. Charles Kihampa. Her presence symbolised TCU's unwavering dedication to promoting women's empowerment in leadership positions.  

Under the theme "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress," TCU emphasised the critical importance of empowering women across diverse leadership roles. By spearheading the conference sponsorship, TCU aimed to ignite meaningful dialogue and catalyse tangible action towards achieving gender equality and propelling societal development forward.  

The conference served as a dynamic platform for engaging discussions, fruitful networking, and collaborative efforts among leaders spanning various sectors. Through its steadfast advocacy for investing in women, TCU aspires to instigate positive transformations within communities and organisations throughout Tanzania.  

With TCU's proactive involvement and steadfast advocacy, the 6th Annual Leadership Conference emerged as a transformative catalyst for driving women's empowerment and propelling progress towards gender equality across Tanzania.  

The conference was also attended by the TCU Head of Human Resource Management and Administration Section, Ms. Gladness Michael, and TCU Head of Public Relations and Education Unit, Ms. Jorlin Kagaruki.
